When I was learning French and Italian, I realized that traditional study alone—like drilling verb tenses—only gets you halfway there. True fluency happens when you pair those structural foundations with real-world, everyday immersion.

Language learning gave me the perspective shift and permission I needed to shape my own path. When I was 13, I became obsessed with France and decided I wanted to be a diplomat. I started learning French in high school and took a gap year in France to immerse myself, but once I actually studied international affairs, I realized that career wasn't for me.
What stayed with me was the language. Through plenty of pivots, I discovered my true passion for art. Immersing myself in French culture gave me the courage to pursue art school in France, where I live today. Later, I used this same immersion system to become fluent in Italian.
